Most of the Destination Clubs do a good job of convincing you that their homes are beautiful and in great locations that you and your family would want to vacation in. They are also starting to try to outdo each other with more favorable terms on the one-time upfront membership fee. The standard has been that the fee is 80% refundable, and you will be allowed to exit the club if there are three new members lined up waiting to join. But now both new entrants (Parallel) and established players (Tanner and Haley—formerly A&K) are offering 100% refundable deposits. We are looking forward to our interviews with the management teams of each company to see how this really works and what strings might be attached. Hopefully none.
