No wonder Ebay is losing market share

...in the ticket category. I just bought two tickets to see Spamalot next week in NYC. Having wasted too much time at Ebay I switched to StubHub.com was very impressed with the whole experience – at least for theater tickets.

stubhub.gifPrices seems comparable to the professional brokers that are posting on Ebay, but there is a 10% “buyer fee” at StubHub based on the total cost of the tickets. And then $14.95 for FedEx overnight shipping and handling.

Seems worth it to me: great online experience (site is built for viewing and buying tickets, unlike Ebay), email confirmation as soon as order is placed, a guarantee that your tickets will arrive on time, and finally, a customer service line to call with problems.

Having used Amercian Express Centurion Concierge, Ebay, my local ticket broker, and hotel concierges to get tickets, I would choose StubHub over all of them – even for last minute tickets, which you can pick up at a local StubHub office.
