Ski resorts are virtual hubs for private residence clubs. In fact, five of the top ten destinations for fractional developments are in areas that are well known for their powder-packed slopes. Numerous new shared ownership projects have popped up in recent years. Here’s a look four ski towns and the residence club offerings that each has to offer.
Telluride
The Club at Tristant offers three- and four-bedroom residences with an availability guarantee—members simply call when they want to come. Memberships start at $799,000 and include the use of a Land Rover, private ski lift and a Telluride Ski & Golf Club Membership, which includes complimentary season ski passes. The ski-in/ski-out resort is a short walk from Mountain Village. There are also whole ownership opportunities for 2,200 to 4,500 square foot, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes starting at $2.5 million.
Park City
At The Sky Lodge, members enjoy two- and three-bedroom residences of up to 2,950 square feet, available for $260,000 to $1,000,000. Members are guaranteed 35 days of use per year, and have access to the Sky Club rooftop lounge, year-round personal storage and a dedicated concierge. Fractional deeded ownership of residents’ personal homes comes with guaranteed reserved vacation time. The Sky Lodge is located 35 minutes from Salt Lake City in the center of Park City, and private chauffeur service between the two is available for $160 each way.
Jackson Hole
The Teton Club offers two- and three-bedroom condo homes, with 1,400 to 1,800 square feet of space, for $12,000 to $81,000, starting with a minimum of two weeks use annually. Maintenance fees average $2,000 per week of ownership. Located at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, 12 miles from Jackson, the club’s perks include daily ski pass privileges for two at the ski-in/ski-out resort, private ski and boot lockers and valet service. Buyers may purchase up to twelve weeks of use, and can exchange time at the Jackson Hole properties for privileges at The Miner’s Club in Park City or Whiski Jack in Whistler, BC.
Lake Tahoe
80|50 Northstar offers one-, two- and three-bedroom homes averaging 1,800 square feet, and starting at $299,000 with additional maintenance fees of $7,000. Members can ski-in/ski-out straight from the lobby of the resort, and have access to private chefs and private ski instruction. Located 30 minutes from Reno and three hours from San Francisco, flights into into Reno/Tahoe, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, or Oakland airports are available daily. Members are guaranteed four weeks of use per year.

There are more options in Tahoe - and in fact the one you mention 80/50 is the project that has struggled the most up there.
