Ultra-luxury destination club Solstice has announced that Graham Kos, the club’s founder, and a group of unnamed outside investors, have purchased a controlling interest in the company. Kos and his group bought the stake from the founders of Parallel, a boutique destination club that merged with Solstice in 2006.
After the merger with Parallel, Kos took a less active role within the company. While the club’s membership and property portfolio grew at a steady 60 percent in 2007, there have been some rumblings that Kos has been not been satisfied with the management of the company. With the purchase of the controlling interest, Kos assumed duties as CEO and President of Solstice, and current president Timothy Weller left the club.
