Solstice Unveils New Napa Property

Solsticenapaext We were in Napa last week, and got the chance to visit the co-founders of the ultra-luxury destination club Solstice, and their recently completed home in Napa. Graham and Shay Kos, along with Jeff Scult, recently took back control of the club, having merged it with Parallel over a year ago.

The new home in Napa, near Yountville, is a gorgeous design-inspired take on luxury Napa cottages, clustered around a beautiful outdoor dining and pool area. The 3-bedroom home features a host of cool interior touches and features, including a soon-to-be-filled wine room that will set it apart from most other destination club homes. And it’s what a member should expect, considering the cost to join the club’s base level Signature plan is $615,000 with annual dues of $34,000 for 14 nights.

Scult was kind enough to give us a quick update on the club. One hundred members have joined, it is well-capitalized with new investors, and club executives have brought in new operational and hospitality leadership. The merger and now buyback by the original founders is a reminder that the industry continues to experience growing pains and consolidation.

It’s also a reminder that the success of a club is determined by the commitment of its founders—their willingness to stay the course and deliver a unique offering. It seems that the Kos-Scult triumvirate (pictured below in the Napa home) has decided to further invest their time (perhaps capital, although we don’t know who the new investors are) to build their niche club. And the home in Napa clearly demonstrates they have a real talent for developing real estate that will meet the expectations of members that are used to six star experiences.

Check back with us in the next few weeks for a more comprehensive interview with Jeff Scult regarding the direction of his club. If you are a member of Solstice and want to tell us about your membership experience, email us at . We never reveal our sources!
