It’s become a tradition in American sports. Amid a cavalcade of camera flashes, confetti streams, and flying champagne corks, the hero of the victorious team is asked “Where are you going next?” The ebullient hero replies, motivated no less by actual enthusiasm than a likely contractual obligation, “I’m going to Disney World!” The opening bars of “When You Wish Upon A Star” fade in, and the “Mouse” has themselves another brilliant marketing coup.

But for head coach Doc Rivers, whose Boston Celtics decisively dispatched the Los Angeles Lakers at home last night to win the NBA Championship, there must have been some hesitation in his reply. That’s because Rivers is a long-standing member of destination club Ultimate Escapes.

With 140 properties in 50 locations around the world, Doc will have plenty of options for his victory vacation. Why settle on hanging out with Mickey, when Doc could be lounging poolside with a Mai Tai in hand at the club’s villa in the Turks & Caicos. Instead of waiting in line for Thunder Mountain Railroad, wouldn’t Doc prefer soaking in the rustic charm of Ultimate Escapes’ Tuscan farmhouse?
