Lusso's Indigo Cove The arrival of summer means that the high vacation season is upon us. While much of the appeal of a destination club membership is the prospect of year-round travel, the long hot days of summer were just about made for relaxing. We spoke to some of the top destination clubs to find out which residences their members have booked the most this summer, and where you might still be able to make a reservation for a last minute getaway.

Exclusive Resorts

Members of the destination club industry leader seem to be favoring European locales this summer. Despite the weakness of the dollar, kids out of school mean that summer is the best time to take a week or two to enjoy locations like Paris and Tuscany. Exclusive Resorts also reports strong reservations in year round destinations like San Francisco.

Exclusive Resorts’ members who have waited until the last minute will still find good availability in beach locations like Costa Rica and Real del Mar, Mexico. While traditionally thought of as winter playgrounds, mountain towns like Vail and Snowmass offer ample opportunities for summer fun, and Exclusive Resorts’ homes in those locales have plenty of occupancy.

High Country Club

Beach destinations are the most booked up this summer at High Country Club. The club’s homes in the Turks & Caicos, Punta Mita, Mexico, and North Carolina’s Outer Banks are the most popular destinations.

Sun worshipers looking to book a last minute vacation should take heart though, as the club’s homes on the Big Island of Hawaii, Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, and in Costa Rica all still show good availability throughout the summer.

The Lusso Collection

Lusso Collection members are a diverse bunch, or so it would seem if one tried to decipher a trend from the club’s most booked properties this summer. Apparently they equally enjoy drinking margaritas and sport fishing in Cabo San Lucas, shopping and taking in Broadway shows in New York, and hiking and fly fishing in Jackson Hole. While these destinations are the most booked they do still have some open reservations, with Lusso boasting a 53 percent availability rate for its properties overall. Some additional choices for members with more flexible dates include the Bahamas, Anguilla, and Deer Valley.
