NetJets Employee Sues Jennifer Lopez For Dog Attack

The perception may be that anything goes for private jet travelers, but as Jennifer Lopez is finding out, there are some limits to what you can get away with aboard a private jet. As first reported in the New York Daily News, NetJets flight attendant Lisa Watson filed a suit against the Latin diva seeking $5 million in damages from an alleged bite made by Lopez’s guard dog aboard a flight from Farmingdale, NY to Burbank, CA on July 3, 2006.

According to Wilson, 90 minutes into the flight, the dog attacked her and bit into her pant leg as she walked down the cabin of the Gulfstream G-IV. As she tried to get away, Wilson says she twisted and fell, injuring her back in the process. The injuries she sustained would eventually require surgery, and prevented her from being able to work since the incident.

Lopez’s guard dog, Floyd, a German shepherd, had been listed on the plane’s manifest as “a well-behaved guard dog.” Nevertheless, according to the filings, Lopez instructed Wilson on how to act around the animal. Wilson’s suit maintains that Lopez is “absolutely liable for all injuries” since “she should have known the dog had vicious properties.” In addition to targeting Lopez personally, the suit is also going after her production company, Nuyorican Productions.

If only Lopez had read our article on proper etiquette aboard a private jet, this unfortunate situation might never have occurred!

for five million dollars I would chew off my own leg. I mean, really, what could have happened to be worth FIVE MILLION DOLLARS? i was bitten on the leg by an ill-humoured Australian hairy herding dog of some persuasion. If the owner had taken me to to the emergency, and paid, that would have been THAT. Alas, he did not, and it turned into a lawsuit, for about thirty thousand dollars. medical bills? about three thousand, actual cash value, of medical treatment, as I estimate? Perhaps SEVENTY FIVE. OK, throw in another twenty five for the tetanus shot....The lawyer was very happy.

The dog epidemic in this country is out of control. These deranged mentally ill people who refuse to be responsible for their dogs need to be held accountable when they can't control them. J Lo can certainly afford a real bodyguard that can tell the difference between a threat and a flight attendant. Instead she chose to impose this dog on others. What about all the people on that flight allergic to or afraid of dogs. It's incredibly self-centered to expect others want to be cooped up in an airline cabin with a dog.

any properly trained, maintained protection dog should not engage unless 1. handler instructs it to 2. handler is in imminent danger (gunfire or rough contact). otherwise, the general public should not be aware. this of course assumes the dog is being properly handled. the question is, was she handling the dog, or one of her staff? was the attendant following instructions given regarding the dog? was the dog placed in a position to fail? to get crowded, forcing a trained scenario?

WTH is a dog doing on a fight in the first place?? Thats terrible! I hope I don't get stuck on a flight with a yowling howling dog damn that would be terrible! when did that happen? Getting bit by a dog on a plane thats really- horrible WTH!! Dog lovers are to often idiots with out a clue about how to train and control their dogs... Guess "Jlo" is one of those..." I have a dog and my dog has more right than you because its my dog... even if you have to work for a living I have more money than you sorry! My dog can bite you".. Don't let dogs on airplanes unless they are in baggage areas where they can't attack or torment human beings with noise pollution.. http://www.dogassault.com/
