Quintess in Bora Bora Coming off a record month for membership growth, destination club Quintess, LRW now tops 450 members. In addition to the club’s growth in June, it recently added four new trips to its Q Leading Experiences program which launched last spring and provides members travel opportunities outside of the destination club’s portfolio of multi-million dollar residences.

Following positive feedback from members, the destination club added trips in Boston, Bora Bora in the South Pacific, Chatham, Mass., and Florence, Italy, bringing the total number of options to nine. The majority of Q Leading Experiences are designed for couples but two trips, including a three-night stay in Boston and three nights at the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod, can accommodate a family of four. Depending on availability, and for an additional charge, members may be able to add more guests. Options for couples include seven nights in Bora Bora at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach & Spa and a trip to Florence’s Grand Hotel Villa Medici. Quintess members may use up to ten of their base plan nights for Q Leading Experiences. The club is eyeing to expand the program to add trips to India, South Africa and other locales in the U.S., including San Francisco.

Quintess’ expansion of its travel program is part of a larger trend among destination clubs moving to morph into bigger providers of vacation options. Last year Exclusive Resorts rolled out its Once in a Lifetime program that offers a series of ultra high-end tours for members. The club has 15 different tours that cater to three distinct traveler groups: families, couples, and adventure seekers. Options include bike trips through France’s Loire Valley and an expedition to the Galapagos Islands. Exclusive Resorts plans to announce additional tours in the next several months. This fall, destination club Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club will launch, and one of the perks of club membership will be the ability to use some of the plan nights on Abercrombie & Kent tours, which include a wide selection of safaris.

The move by clubs into greater travel options isn’t surprising. While destination clubs point to the wider array of vacation options that such trips provide their members, the excursions also serve to alleviate reservation pressure on a club’s portfolio of homes during the busiest travel times of the year.
