Exclusive Resorts Cabo Summer is winding down, but the cost of a destination club membership is headed up for new members and current club members looking to upgrade their plan. Exclusive Resorts is raising the price of membership on its six plans, Quintess, LRW is bumping up annual dues and Distinctive Holiday Homes is raising prices as it launches new membership options.

Exclusive Resorts will increase the cost of membership on its suite of six plans by $20,000 after Aug. 29. Earlier this year, the destination club industry leader repositioned its membership costs to include a non-refundable initiation fee and a 100 percent refundable deposit. Prices for the initiation fee will rise by $5,000, and what the club calls its refundable deposit will jump by $15,000.

A ten-day plan will now cost $160,000 (including the initiation fee), while a 60-day plan will run $485,000. The cost-per-night of the new plans will jump anywhere from $10 to $50 a night. When comparing Exclusive Resorts’ refund policy to other clubs, consumers should note that the combined initiation fee and deposit works out to a total refund rate of 75 percent.

Quintess last raised prices on some of its membership plans in July, but stopped short of increasing annual dues. On Sept. 15, the club will bump up annual dues on all of its plans—the hike will start at $2,250 and range up to more than $6,000 depending on the plan—according to a club spokesperson.

Finally, Distinctive Holiday Homes just announced major additions to its membership lineup, including a new 63-day plan along with three entry-level, non-refundable travel cards. The club is also raising prices on its current plans by $10,000 to $50,000 on Sept. 1. The biggest jump is the 35-night Platinum plan, which will rise from from $249,000 to $299,000. The 14-night Standard plan will see a price increase of just $10,000. Annual dues will also increase across all plans, and most plans’ daily fee for space available use will also rise. The nightly charge will range from $450 to $950 a night, depending on the plan.
