Destination club Ultimate Escapes added a new tier of membership for those travelers who just can’t seem to get away enough. The new Platinum Plus plan, available in each of the three Ultimate Escapes clubs, allows for up to 60 days of stays in club residences each year.
According to Steve Healy, senior vice president of sales at Ultimate Escapes, the Platinum Plus plan was instituted mainly in response to member demand. “Our Elite Club members are vacationing seven weeks a year, not including trips taken with Ultimate Escapes,” he said. “We just wanted to better accommodate our members and their travel needs.”
Before the introduction of the Platinum Plus option, membership plans at Ultimate Escapes topped out at 42 days a year. The new plans include five advanced reservation a year, one more than the 42-day plan, and give members two advance holiday bookings annually. The 60-day plan requires a membership deposit of $35,000 to $100,000 more than the 42-day plan. Annual dues total $5,000 to $13,500 higher than the 42-day plan. Though the buy-in price and annual dues are higher, these outsized plans have the lowest cost-per-night if members utilize all of the plan days.
The new plans also align Ultimate Escapes with industry leader Exclusive Resorts, which also offers a 60-night membership tier. While Healy expects that most members who choose to take advantage of the Platinum Plus plan will originate in the club’s highest level Elite Club, with a collection of homes averaging $3 million in value, the option will also be available in the mid-level Signature Club and the entry-level Premiere Club.
Other clubs with plans that top more than eight weeks of use a year include Quintess, LRW
and Distinctive Holiday Homes.
