Cycling enthusiasts will remember “The Look” that Lance gave Jan Ullrich five years ago. Today, Exclusive Resorts sprinted up Alpe d’Huez and left the field behind in the “Tour de Destination Clubs.”
We speculated yesterday which club Armstrong could potentially sponsor. We’re sure he would appreciate Exclusive Resort’s dominating performance, as reported in today’s Associated Press article:
- Added member #2000, a total we estimate exceeds the combined membership base of all other destination clubs
- Raised $72 million additional capital, which can probably be leveraged to increase their real estate portfolio to over $1 billion
- Signed Jack Nicklaus to its growing portfolio of marquee partners
Although the NBA finals or World Cup comparisons are probably more apropos this time of year, we’ll continue with the analogy and say the triple announcement by Steve Case are like three simultaneous stage wins. Each on its own merits a press release – bundling them together is giving “the look.”
Exclusive Resorts offers its members a network of nearly 300 luxury homes in 35 destinations. We’ve talked about their plans to expand heavily into Costa Rica. But maybe their seven homes in Paris are the right location for Lance’s seven yellow jerseys. After all, both Armstrong and Case know a thing or two about revolutions. And both have grand plans to make the world a better place. (Visit LiveStrong.org and Revolution Health for details.)
