We keep a running list here of questions that we need to ask the destination clubs – one is what does a member receive if they refer a friend who joins? Most of the websites don’t have any details on referral programs, except we did find that at Ultimate Resort, you can earn points, like a rewards program.

You should ask about the clubs referral program before you join. Here is how we think about it: if you join a club, stay in the homes and become a believer in the club, you will talk to friends, workmates and family about your experiences (you will probablty play host to some of those friends in the club homes).

You will generate prospective members for your club – and clubs currently are investing heavily in marketing to recruit members, so you should be rewarded for helping grow the club. It needs to balanced so that your friends don’t think you are making money off of their membership, but it can be done. We will ask the clubs how they are rewarding members who refer – and you should ask, too.
