Good Growth for High Country Club

We spoke with High Country Club today who were excited to announce the expansion of both their membership base and their portfolio of homes. In the two months since we interviewed their executive team they’ve nearly doubled their membership base.

Now with 75 members, High Country Club is aggressively working to meet their goal of adding a new property for every 6-to-8 new members. In the past month new residences in Telluride and Kailua Kona, HI have been made available to members and properties in Orlando and Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico are set to follow in the coming months.

The High Country Club website highlights an additional six locations that they hope to add this year. Aspen and Vail are among these locations, but so are New York City and Las Vegas, representing a further diversification of their home portfolio.

High Country Club will continue to be a haven for skiers. Seventy percent of their active portfolio are mountain destinations and their “wish list” of desirable future destinations includes high country hotspots such as Sun Valley, Park City and Jackson Hole. But the addition of beach and golfing destinations offers flexibility and variety to their members, both current and prospective.

While High Country’s membership fee is the lowest of the clubs covered by the Helium Report, the “basic math of destination clubs” still holds true. As they add members, they use membership deposits to cover a large portion of the acquisition costs of new residences. High Country won’t be acquiring slope-side accommodations at Aspen, but they will have a presence there. And if you’re a skier whose paramount concerns are vacation variety and a reasonable price, we encourage you review High Country Club.
