A reader recently wrote a review for Voyage Partners, a new company based in the San Francisco Bay Area that is trying to sell fractions of a residential cruise ship – in advance. If they get enough buyers, they intend to buy, renovate and then launch the ship.

Someone wrote a glowing review about the first ship – although it does not exist – and the investment prospect of ownership. An excerpt:

The rental cash flow on this ship for second home or vacation home buyers looks amazing. My accountant went nuts with excitment when he analized it for me. He said it was the best return on investment he has seen in his twenty-five year career.

Another reader complained:

I don’t think that the boat is even built yet and the reviewer gives it 5 stars. The lines in the review come from ads from the web site. This casts doubts on the entire review process and I don’t think that reviews like this should be included.

We agree. The review appears to be written by someone that wants to sell shares in the boat, not an actual buyer. We have deleted the review.
