It’s not all about competition in the destination club industry. A couple of clubs are actually co-operating!
BelleHavens has a reciprocity agreement with The Markers Club, allowing members to book The Markers’ homes in Scottsdale, Arizona, where BelleHavens does not yet own real estate.
According to Darin Gilson, founder and CEO of BelleHavens, the co-operation has worked. Their members have enjoyed The Markers’ homes and BelleHavens has demonstrated that there is demand from their members for a home in the Scottsdale region.
Helium Report Perspective
Smaller clubs need to be creative in terms of lowering costs and providing its members more locations and geographic reach. Leasing homes is one way to do this (although the most expensicve way, in terms of operating costs). Another strategy is reciprocal agreements. Destination clubs like Quintess, Portofino and BelleHavens are employing various forms of reciprocity with luxury hotels, other destination clubs, or even local golf or country clubs to add more value to their memberships. Makes sense.
