Recently, destination club Private Escapes adopted the industry standard practice of an 80% refundable initiation fee. (The refundable deposit is the portion of the membership deposit that will be returned if you leave the club.) However, they’re offering a special deal for new members referred to Private Escapes by an existing member: a 100% membership redemption. The 20% difference is valued at $20,000 to $40,000 depending on the type of membership.

How it works is if a new member is specifically referred by an existing member of Private Escapes, they will receive a membership offering that allows for 100% redemption upon leaving the club. However, they must enter into a reservation agreement by March 31, 2007 and fund their membership by April 9, 2007.

The Hero Referral

Private Escapes is calling the offer “The Hero Referral” progam. They believe it willl help current members introduce friends and family to the benefits of destination club membership while offering referred members the legacy 100% membership deposit guarantee.

In addition, Private Escapes recognizes the need for membership advocacy and believes that their destination club’s growth over the next three years will be fueled by referrals. Currently, approximately 20% of their new members come directly from member referrals. This number has been steadily climbing over the past few years.
