Fractional ownership private jet operator Avantair boasted a Gold Rating for safety from the Aviation Research Group/U.S. last month. The criteria for the award is based on “historical safety ratings, current aircraft and pilot data, and on-site safety audits,” according to an Avantair press release.

The Aviation Research Group/U.S. specializes in safety reports, financial aircraft operating cost reports, and aircraft market research. Their highest safety award is a Platinum Rating.

Steven Santo, CEO of Avantair, said in a press release that his company “plan[s] to apply for the Platinum Rating in the fall.”

Avantair is the exclusive provider of Piaggio Avanti P.180 aircraft shares in North America. With 32 planes under its wing, Avantair has an additional 51 Piaggio Avantis on order, too.

With their Gold Rating announcement, Avantair also unveiled a third party financing option on fractional share purchases. They have partnered with Century Bank to offer “Variable Rate Finance Programs.”
