Robb Report purred about a handful of the major destination club players this month, and also put in their two cents regarding private jet travel among other things in their annual Best of the Best issue.

While no clear rubric existed on which to gauge destination clubs, the editors selected the hot-shots:

• Exclusive Resorts
• Quintess
• Private Escapes Pinnacle
• Yellowstone Club

Luxury condo hotels were included among the featured Best of the Best properties, but we were concerned about winners like the Mandarin Oriental Chicago, and San Francisco’s Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences in Robb Report’s list – they are still under construction. That’s not to say they couldn’t be winners, but to rank them among the best is presumptuous. Similarly, the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Seattle is a winner in utero.
