Weekend warriors who ski and snowboard can find a wide open getaway in the wilderness of Idaho, at the developing Fairmont Tamarack condominium hotel. Built near Big Payette Lake, the Fairmont condo hotel project will have 224 rooms, 69 penthouses and 50 private homes, according to a Bloomberg News report. Units range in price from $800,000 to $3 million-plus.

Besides snow sports, white water rafting, golfing and fishing are options at Fairmont Tamarack in the warmer months. The residence club will also be equipped with a rock climbing wall, a bowling alley and a machine that simulates kayaking. For those who prefer to stay out of the snow and cold, the Fairmont Tamarack will house a spa, boutique shops, several gourmet restaurants, a kids’ entertainment center as well as a 24-hour, full-service concierge and babysitters.

The Development

The Fairmont Tamarack is the only condo hotel in the area, and is currently in the construction phase. The units already are going fast, with completion expected in 2009. In March a block of 125 units were sold in seven hours, for a total of $140 million, Bloomberg reported.

Who’s Behind It?

Heading up the venture are Bayview Financial and Agassi Graf Development, a partnership between husband and wife team Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, who have their own property near the Tamarack’s golf course, with views of Lake Cascade to the east and the ski slopes to the west. The Agassi Graf development team is also working with Exclusive Resorts’ Steve Case on a development in Costa Rica.
