In a strategic move, Ultimate Resort – the second-largest destination club – has partnered with American Express to offer double reward points. Club members that pay for memberships and annual dues on their Amex card are eligible for this benefit. And with 775 members that could cash in, it’s no small deal.

Last November Exclusive Resorts struck a similar deal with American Express; cardholders receive 1,000,000 Rewards points by joining Exclusive Resorts’ Elite program. While credit card perks aren’t a sound reason to join a destination club, Ultimate Resort and Exclusive Resorts are the largest players among destination clubs, and account for nearly 75 percent of all destination club members.
