Quintess, the Leading Residences of the World, recently announced an initiative to help guests make eco-friendly travel choices. With partner The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. (LHW), Quintess joined the Leading Green Initiative, which empowers guests to plan responsible travel with the help of ecotourism nonprofit Sustainable Travel International (STI).

More Locations to Go Green

To promote carbon-neutral travel, Quintess will offset members’ energy consumption costs in 60+ global locations by making contributions to renewable energy programs that prevent an equal amount of carbon emissions worldwide.

In addition to calculating Quintess’ carbon footprint, STI offers guests the opportunity to learn about their own carbon footprints in non-Quintess travels and make personal contributions. LHW will also make a $.50 corporate donation to STI for every night of a guest’s stay when the guest mentions Leading Green Initiative or registers through their website when booking a hotel stay.

Earlier this summer, Quintess named its top 10 destinations and announced a $125 million fund for new home development. Currently the third-largest destination club, closely following Exclusive Resorts and Ultimate Resort, Quintess has more than 375 members and an average home value of more than $4 million.

Other destination clubs with green initiatives include luxury vacation home club BelleHavens, which has teamed up with Carbonfund.org to reduce and offset carbon emissions in its homes.
