With the kick off of ski season, ultra-luxury destination club Solstice announced the addition of a new ski-in/ski-out chalet in Verbier, Switzerland to its private home collection.
The four-bedroom residence is situated in the “Four Valleys” ski area, which features 35 lifts and slopes for both novices and advanced skiers. Just 90 minutes from Geneva and surrounded by striking mountain views, Verbier also has easy access to shopping, dining, and nightlife.
Called “Bellaiuva,” which means “great view” in the local patois, the home was in the planning stages for four years. The design incorporates a traditional Swiss aesthetic on the exterior and contemporary touches inside. It has a gourmet kitchen, home theater system, an oversized sauna with heated planks, and an outdoor hot tub. The cedar deck faces west, ideal for sunset gazers, and the master suite includes a Brazilian slate steam bath with rain showerhead and in-ceiling lights meant to mimic the night sky. Bellaiuva will be available for occupancy in January 2008.
Solstice was founded in 2004 and offers its some 80 members access to more than a dozen homes and a yacht in 12 locations in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. Verbier is the most recent in a series of new homes announced by Solstice this year including a second home in Cabo San Lucas, two “glass houses” in New York’s West Village, and a Brazilian beach villa scheduled to open in 2008. The company is planning $50 million in acquisitions over the next year and a half.
