You are viewing an article from the Destination Clubs category.
The Lusso Collection recently relaunched its public website, giving the destination club’s internet presence a sleek facelift for the new year.
The site is a textbook application of Web 2.0 design principles and features ample use of Javascript and Flash. Visitors to the site are now greeted by a slideshow on the main page which showcases some of Lusso’s properties. Pages load smoothly and quickly, especially if you have a broadband internet connection, and new information springs seamlessly onto the page through eye-catching wipes, fades and dissolves.
The property location map, a feature that has become ubiquitous for destination club sites, doesn’t really break any new ground in terms of its basic design—the club’s homes are represented by color-coded dots on a map of North America and Europe—but succeeds where others fail in terms of responsiveness and coherence. Destination details and a link to each property’s individual page conveniently appear to the left of the map when you click on a dot.
The individual destination pages succinctly represent the relevant details for each home and its locale, and lay out the essential qualities of the property. And advanced design techniques aren’t limited to the eye-candy destination pages; particularly impressive is the parent-child organizational scheme on the site’s Frequently Asked Questions page, which makes finding answers to queries a breeze.
Lusso will be rolling out similar enhancements to its Members’ section in coming months. Users can expect increased functionality on the booking feature, as well as even more comprehensive information on individual destinations.

is this really worth a story..a new website? How does their website compare to the bigger players like Exclusive Resorts?

Lusso seems to be a small club that is able to deliver a "big club" experience.
