We arrived in Borgo di Vagli late in the evening. It was dark and we had missed dinner but Doreen and Gianfranco had kindly put our meal in our apartment together with a bottle of delicious Montepulciano. The next morning we awoke to the sound of birds singing and the sun and the warmth of the day ahead was already in the air. We had breaklfast on the terrace crusty bread, local cheese, hot coffee and fresh fruit. There were clouds of butterflies on the lavender, in just 24 hours we were already relaxed and refreshed.

Borgo di vagli is a magic place- wonderful walks a good place to paint or write,a romantic castle nestling in the valley to stir the imagination. Thank you Fulvio for restoring it to its former glory but with added charms and of course all the convenience and comforts of modern life.
