My family has now spent 2 weeks at High Country Club properties and we are incredibly pleased with the properties and the club. We have found the properties to be first class (Hawaii and California and yes we loved them, even though they are in the $1M range rather than the more expensive properties of other clubs). I had researched several options including equity plans and found all of them to be overpriced for the concept. The entry price is why we looked hard at High Country Club, but we’ve found the properties and especially the service from the staff to exceed our every expectation!

The Waikaloa property is superb, with 3 bedrooms, a huge kitchen and living area and a single car garage (nice with the topical sun). Furnishings are very nice, kitchen is exceptional well equiped and we liked the location. On the downside, the window coverings could use an upgrade which I understand is underway or may now be done.

The Mammoth mountain ski property was in a great location in the central village, with walk out access to a lift (and a Starbucks!). Again, it was equiped very well, although 6 people is tight at this property and a wireless internet (like Hawaii) would have been better than the wired with a short cord.

We have 3 more vacations planned for planned for this year including a return to Hawaii and a trip to Tuscany.

Overall, I was very leary when I first looked at the overall concept of destination clubs and wondered if the lower pricing of High Country Club would result in disappointing properties. We’ve found to the contrary that the properties are great and as I mentioned earlier the staff, especially Chris their director of member services, is superb. It just that the properties aren’t as big and the cost is a lot less!!
