I stayed at the Napa house with friends and the service was extraordinary. Quintess had arranged for an in-home masseuse followed by a local sommelier to lead a blind wine tasting across several uncommon varietals. A private chef prepared a dinner party, and the following day Quintess pulled a few strings to offer us private tours of a few exclusive vineyards.

The home itself was fantastic with several bedrooms in the main house (perhaps four – I don’t recall on account of the sommelier), and additional space in the guest house by the pool. The pool and hot tub were in great shape, and we enjoyed the casual home theater as well.

The only oddities were aspects of the home that would be great for a private residence, but irrelevant for transients. The garage looked like it could hold 20 cars, and the basement was consumed by a massive empty wine cellar. While the house was a gem, I could envision that square footage being allocated more purposefully.

One additional observation: Quintess members refer to the club as “we” in a manner that would seem pointed if it weren’t so effortless. “We’re adding homes,” “We’re working with local government,” “We’re thinking about alternative price plans,” etc. That can only be a good sign.
