Our Christmas trip to Italy was wonderful! Everything worked out perfectly and we had a great time. Melissa, our Destination Host, was terrific. She was organized, welcoming, generous, and a pleasure to work with. The home we stayed in was beautiful and furnished with everything we could possibly need!

On the 24th we had a delicious dinner at Cafe Omero, which our Member & Travel Advisor Mia recommended. It was an easy five minute walk down the road from the Quintess, LRW house, and the food, atmosphere and service were all perfect. We were pretty tired after dinner so we did not go to mass that night, but went the following morning to San Miniato. I sound like I am overusing my adjectives, but it really was all wonderful….words really just can’t describe!

Samuel was the perfect tour guide in Florence. He was very generous with his time and gave a great tour of the Uffizi and Academia, as well as other recommendations of places to see and eat in Florence. I would highly recommend him to other Members visiting Florence.

We rented a car and David did really well with driving. We drove to Lucca on the 26th and then over to Pisa for a quick visit. Instead of going up to Venice we decided to go to Sienna instead with a stop in San Gimignano on the way there. It was a beautiful drive and Sienna is a great city to visit.

I would recommend that others visit Italy at this time of year, too. It is great because there are fewer crowds at the tourist attractions. But definitely take a winter coat, scarf and gloves as it does get cold. But maybe we felt it more because we are used to Florida warmth!
