We just completed our first LUSSO vacation and it was an outstanding experience for our family. The vacation is one that exceeded our expectations and changed the way we think about travelling with our family.

For starters, we have two little boys, ages 3 & 1. Travelling with such little ones is always a challenge. Fortunately, we found that for us, traveling via a destination club like LUSSO would change all of that.

We made the decision for an April visit to Miami in late January, so we weren’t entirely sure that we’d be able to make the visit when we were available. We were pleasently surprised that in going online to the member reservation system, that there was a week long block open on the week of April 10th in Miami, which was perfect for us.

Upon arriving in Miami, our experience began at the airport as a driver picked us up and much to our surprise, the luxury SUV already had two child seats installed and waiting for our kids.

As we pulled up to the Trump Palace, we were greeted by Benny, the concierge and he brought us up to our Miami home. Our first impression upon entering was that this was great – it’s a gorgeous space but far more important to us were the thing that made it our “home” for while we were in Miami.

The kids rooms each had a crib waiting. There was a high chair setup for our youngest one. A potty seat waiting for the three year old. Baby formula, baby wipes, diapers etc. There were gift bags for the kids with toys for the pool and the beach. Additionally, there were toys and games for indoor play and of course a refrigerator stocked with all of the basics that we had requested in advance.

It’s amazing how quickly we settled into our Miami home. Everything was just so comfortable as everything we needed was taken care of and right there.

Once we were settled in, the first day or two we adventured out with the kids to go to the Seaquarium or the Zoo, but we quickly realized that the best place to be was on the beach, at the pool or simply hanging out in our home. In all ways Trump Palace was wonderful with a great stretch of beach, multiple pools and the home itself was outstanding.

Throughout the trip, Benny was as available as needed. If there was anything we needed – ideas on a restaurant, Benny not only made the suggestion, but dropped off maps and directions. If we ran low on a supply like Milk, he simply showed up and restocked the fridge. The daily cleaners were coordinated so that they were in the house when we were not vs. showing up while we were playing in the house or during kid naps.

The Penthouse itself was really wonderful with great features, appliances, accommodations, decorating etc. Having recently built a new home, many of the appliances, fixtures etc., were similar to what we were used too and the finishes were all very high quality as one would expect. There are two features that potential members / visitors should be aware of though. The first is that at 44 floors up, the views are simply spectacular. WIth large decks on each floor, it should be noted that those with a fear of heights might want to stay inside. Oddly, as the trip continued, my trepidation with hanging out on the deck subsided, but it’s a long ways up. The other thing is that there is a very tall spiral staircase from the first floor to the second. For the very young or very old, this certainly can be a challenge. Our three year old loved to go up and down this, but we were careful to spot him throughout.

At the end of the day, the biggest take away for us- and what exceeded our expectations - was how much this changed the travel experience. To essentially have our Miami “home”, that we settled into so quickly, that was so comfortable, with so many of our needs taken care of before we even arrived to the help we received from Benny throughout….it simply was a great, relaxing vacation for us and we can’t wait for our next visit.
